Synopsis:
The Snake Trap is an instrumental rock band from Austin, TX. Formed in Winter 2004, they made their live debut at a private party for the Fender Guitars corporate staff in Scottsdale, AZ followed by a performance the next day at the Tempe Music Festival. Since then, they have been playing extensively in Austin and throughout Texas. Most recently, they've toured the Midwest with labelmates Gorch Fock. The Snake Trap's music draws on influences ranging from the melodic and layered post-rock of The Redneck Manifesto to the heavy rock riffs and dynamic shifts of post-punk bands like Engine Kid and the mathy, raucous time shifting of Dazzling Killmen. Combining these influences and countless others, The Snake Trap compose music that can be melodic and idyllic, and then in an instant become a furious, rapid-fire punk onslaught.
